
A house in the Vorst suburb of Brussels has come under fire from a military grade weapon local police in the south of the capital say. Fortunately, nobody was injured in the shooting. Investigators are examining whether the attack is linked to the drugs scene and/or previous shootings.
The shooting took place at around 3.45am on Wednesday morning in the Sint-Denijsstraat in Vorst. Using a military grade weapon persons unknown opened fire on the facade of a building that has been divided up into several flats.
According to Brussels media outlet La Capitale, at least 15 bullets were fired at the premises. Some entered the stairwell and pierced the entrance door of a ground-floor flat.
This is already the third shooting in the Sint-Denijsstraat in several months. On the night of 1 October 2023, another flat further down the street was targeted in a shooting. At that time, three shots were fired at the front of the building.
A few days later, shots were twice fired at the premises that came under fire on Wednesday. The exact motive behind the various attacks is not yet clear.
