The woman died in the flat the couple had rented for a holiday. A police source reported that emergency services notified the police early this morning.
Injuries on the woman’s wrists and neck alerted paramedics as did traces of blood on the sheets.
The French daily Var-Matin writes that the woman is 65 years old. The man is believed to have a clean police record.
