A suspect has been detained in connection with a fatal shooting in the Brussels district of Laken on Saturday night. The suspect is a 26-year-old man. He has been arrested on suspect of homicide and carrying an unlicenced weapon.
Just before midnight on Saturday a 29-year-old man was shot dead on the Steylsstraat in the Brussels district of Laken. The Brussels Judicial Authorities say that the investigation into the fatal shooting has led to the arrest of a 26-year-old suspect. He has been arrested on suspicion of homicide and possessing an unlicenced firearm.
The investigation so far points to more than one person having been involved in the shooting. Additional suspects have yet to be identified.
Victim of Saint-Joost-ten-Node shooting still in a critical condition
In a second incident on Saturday night a 28-year-old man was seriously injured in a shooting in the Brussels municipality of Sint-Joost-ten-Node. The Brussels Judicial Authorities says that the victim is still in critical condition in hospital. No one has yet been arrested in the investigation into this case.
